If we thought the Summer Edition was great, then we were pleasantly amazed by the winter edition which held on the 19th of December, 2021. With a wide array of gospel artists, there was no dull moment. As it happened last year, Dr. Henry’s band opened the floor, this time featuring Bunmipraise, in a song titled ‘Oba ni’, meaning He (Christ) is the King.
Adeola Abioye extolled the Name of Jesus with us. Grace Odupitan (Gracelikerain), a worshiper and author, came up shortly afterwards, bringing healing and deliverance with her to bless our hearts with a song about the overwhelming love of God. It was a reminder of all that God had to go through to bring salvation to mankind. She was followed by Juwon Osunkoya, a gospel artist who led us to give glory to God with the song ‘You Covered Me’.
Teni Oduntan, our young gospel minister, came up next to extol God with songs about the His love and faithfulness. Mr. Oduntan came up afterwards to talk about the challenges of the changing times, the Platform (STO’s motivational talkshow) and the passion that lies at the very heart of STO as a body. Thanking everyone who had been of help in any capacity at all, he wished everyone a happy festive season and a beautiful 2022 in advance, after which Bunmi Praise came up to lead another session of worship.
We had congratulatory messages from people of God like Pastor Freddy Adekayode and Pastor (Mrs.) Deborah Olukoju, among others, who admitted to have been blessed in the two years of the Praise Explosion. Minister Tosin Alao also led us through a session of Spirit-filled worship, with Messanjah coming up to bless us with the gospel by rap. Petersax, the sax maestro further showed us that there was more, as he praised God with his instrument of praise: the saxophone, after which Immanuel Fellowship Drama Ministry blessed us with a drama titled ‘Which is the Greatest?’
Lanre Rex Onasanya, the lead pastor of Spirit of Life Christian Church, communicated the realities of our inheritance in Christ in a brief sermon. We were further blessed by Faith Dappa, and eventually Dr. Tim Godfrey, all the way from Nigeria, performing some of his hit songs like ‘dependable God’ and ‘Nar’ekele’, followed by an electrifying praise session that got us all dancing. It was the perfect way to round off what was indeed a praise explosion.
