This episode of The Platform saw our very own host, Bunmi Oduntan, alongside four amazing guests, Yemi and Ruth Bolarinwa, Temitope Oyekunle and Bunmi Aregbesola, discussing the topic ‘True Love’. These guests have been married for different number of years. Sharing on how they met their individual spouses, one confessed to have been drawn by their dressing, one by their persistence and care, and Yemi and Ruth met on a flight, confessing that it wasn’t love at first sight, but friendship seemed to be a great start-up for them all. Answering the question on whether true love exists, the guests definitely agreed on this, citing their own lives as examples.

Bunmi Aregbesola talked about the place of initial chemistry and attraction, in terms of love growth, and they all seemed to settle on the fact that their love for their spouses has even grown stronger over time. Talking about the signs of true love, Yemi confessed that it is subjective but highlighted communication, home values, spiritual compatibility. Temitope went further to say that being with the person should give one joy.
Speaking on sustaining true love in the face of unmet expectations in life, the Bolarinwas talked about the place of having a mentor, and Bunmi Aregbesola was emphatic about spending the first year at least, alone, before having children. In answering the final question on how they spice up their love, the place of alone time and bonding activities were discussed, as well as Pubic Displays of Affection (PDA), with varying opinions and intensity.
